During the 2016 Calgary Stampede, guests at a McDonald’s restaurant near the Stampede grounds, were surprised and delighted when they placed their orders via the self-service kiosks.  Taking inspiration from the Stampede and Alberta’s strong country music heritage, each guest’s personalized order was narrated as a customized country song, improvised live by talented country singer Justin Collette.

The ballads were recorded on hidden camera to create a highlight reel that demonstrates how fun and easy it is use McDonald’s self-service kiosks.

As part of its sponsorship of the Calgary Stampede, McDonald’s “Not Without Canadian Farmers” message dominated the Agricultural Zone with signage and a booth selling special merchandise in support of the Calgary Stampede Foundation’s International Youth Livestock and Steer Classic Scholarships.  The McDonald’s booth also included a digital photo wall where visitors could take their photo which was then transformed into a GIF for them to share on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the #McDonaldsAtStampede hashtag.
